Last Night I finally got to the movies to watch `The Hills Have Eyes 2'.
I was looking forward to this since the first re-make was excellent, and shittening.
Last year the lucky ones died first. On march 23rd the lucky ones die fast.
I read the reviews before I watched it. People didn't seem to be very enthusiastic about this movie but I decided to give it a try anyway.
The movie tries to leave off from the 1st movie.
An opening scene of a woman giving birth to a mutant, and she's then killed sets the trend that the mutants are kidnapping women for raping and breeding, and finally disposing of.
When some military scientists stop responding, a team of trainee marine's go to investigate and deliver some equipment.
This turns in to a killing spree!
I was rather satisfied. I wanted gore. It delivered! I wanted mutants. It delivered as well!
The rape scene was hard enough to have you almost looking away, and thinking christ this girls getting a right seeing to from that big bastard! She was quite hot as well!
Overall The Hills Have Eyes 2 is dumb and fun. A lot of blood, very nice looking chicks, mutants with almost supernatural forces and some very decent fight scenes.
At first I thought the characters were annoying, because the acting was a little piss poor, but in the end I liked them, especially the two heroes.
They were my favorite characters since the beginning!
Like some people mentioned, it sometimes looks like The Descent.
Believe me, The Descent is way better! And so is Aja's remake of The Hills Have Eyes.
The big bonus here is the incredibly, ridiculously hot and outstanding acting by`Jessica Stroup' who plays Amber. I mean where the hell has she appeared from.
She is excellent as you will come to find
This one is nothing but an average sequel. Keep this in mind and you might have a good time. Just don't expect too much.
The only slight dis-appointment I had was this is a new script and not a re-make like the 1st one. The original second Hill Have Eyes was quite good!
You will be wondering where Papa Duke as the mutants here are just mutants and not our favourite ones.
But nevertheless its ok and it entertains, just not as good as the first one!
Worth Watching ?
Yes its worth watching but don't expect brilliance!
Worth Owning on DVD ?
Absolutely, for easy half decent horror and Jessica Stroup.
