Movie Mad Review:
For a New York cop and his witness, the distance between life and death just got very short.
Bruce Willis stars as Jack Mosley, an alcohol dependant cop who is assigned the seemingly ordinary task of transporting a witness from police custode to a courthouse, just 16 blocks away.
However, there are powerful enemies who will try to stop Jack and eliminate the witness before they reach their final destination. At all costs.
The acting is superb, especially by Willis, as is the directing by Richard Donner, with great camera angles adding the the thrill of suspence and the feeling of being hunted.
The witness - Eddie Bunker, played by Mos Def, has an irritating voice and this will drive you to despair.
Mos Def stopped me giving this movie 4 Stars because he really is that annoying.
Whilst the final outcome of the plot does not elude you at any point, there is still a nice final twist to the plot, with plenty of 'how the hell will they get out of THIS!?' situations throughout the film, keeping you on the edge of your seat.
Worth Watching ?
Definately worth watching for the great storyline.
DVD Features
Alternate Ending Not Seen in Theaters - Viewable Seperately and incorporated into the film.
Deleted Scenes with Director/Screenwriter Commentary
Theatrical Trailer
Worth Owning on DVD ?
I think so! Whether I will watch it again, I'm not so sure. To listen to Mos Def again would be torturous.
Our Rating:
3 out of 5.
