Movie Mad Review:
Now I know most of us have seen this movie, I know its ancient, but this review is Blu-Ray and I think it delivers briliantly.
When I finally got my new Sony BDP-S1 to load the disc at the 3rd attempt, due to pending firmware updates, it was awesome.
The picture almost grazed my plasma it was that sharp, the sound is phenomenal, and the menus are just fucking class.
The difference from DVD to Blu-Ray is just fucking mind numbing!
But enough about this and here comes the review you all know about!
Fighter navigator Chris Burnett (Owen Wilson) wants out: he was looking for something more than the boring recon missions he's been flying.
He finds himself flying the lone Christmas day mission over war-torn Bosnia. But when he talks pilot Stackhouse into flying slightly off-course to check out an interesting target, the two get shot down. Stackhouse is caught and murdered as Burnett watches from a distance.
Burnett is soon alone, trying to outrun a pursuing army, while commanding officer Reigert (Gene Hackman) finds his rescue operation hamstrung by politics, forcing Burnett to run far out of his way.
The film itself is excellent, it certainly delivered action, suspense, and for part, fun.
The characters were solid, and director John Moore emphasised the war - torn cities of Bosnia quite well (which was one of the highlights of the film).
Owen Wilson (probably at his best), did a good job at portraying a character way out of his comfort zone, and Vladimir Mashkov was chilling as a Serbian sniper.
The film is brilliant so why blab on, if you haven't got it, by the Blu-Ray and save up for a player or buy the PS3..
Worth Watching ?
Definately, this is an absolute classic movie!
DVD Features
Worth Owning on DVD ?

Our Rating:
